Avatar, a new look into the Human Alien

Movie Review: Up

From Disney and Pixar comes another movie designed for kids but can be watched by the adults as well; and the spelling is easier with just 2 letters – “U” and “P”.

This story is about the adventures of a certain guy, Carl Fredricksen. Just like everyone else, he was dreaming of something impossible. But since this is just computer generated, then there should be no problems with it.

Carl wanted to become an explorer, just like his idol, Charles Muntz. When he was kid, as he was daydreaming, he met a girl by the name of Ellie, which then became Carl’s life long partner. They started out with a promise to place their house at the Paradise Falls somewhere in South America. Due to life’s financial challenges, they were unable to start their journey. After Ellie passed away, it is then up to Carl to make this dream come true.

Surely it was a very difficult task, but Carl, now an old Mr. Fredricksen gave a lot of his effort, and he has used some help from a camp-wilderness kid named Russel, a dog, and a bird. They battled out a freak of science that was Charles Muntz, and re-mapped Mr. Fredricksen’s adventure.

It was indeed a very good movie.

For kids, it worked out as an animated film.

For adults, it worked out as a story of dreams and goals, how to achieve them, using some help along the way, and drawing inspiration from someone. I am sure anyone would really love it.

There was about 5 scenes in which I shed some tears. I left them on the theatre house for the next one to wipe off.

Movie Review: GI Joe, Rise of the Cobra

For people who know the storyline of the animated series, it is normal to be disappointed. But for people like me who is nothing but familiar about the action figures and were very young to understand the storyline of the animated series, it is a great thing that these GI Joe’s are human that can live right now in this part of the universe.

The movie is all about MARS industries creating weapons of both defense and offense and some soldiers protecting the weapons of mass destruction. Then a group of freaks and geeks are trying to steal these warheads called nanobites (sounds like a smaller version of a terrabites that you battle on time crisis 4). After that, another group of freaks and geeks, called GI Joes would say, “If all else fail, we do not.”

Movie Review: Ice Age 3

“Where is the ice?”

That was the question I was thinking about halfway through the movie. I thought I was watching The Land before Time, the minute I saw dinosaurs. I reviewed the movie title and realized that I missed and important part of it. It specifically says “Dawn of the Dinosaurs”. I completely ignored the subtitle.

The movie is for kids. Any adult who would watch it would remind him of how to be a kid. Of course, values like friendship, family, and more are being discussed in the story. Mammoths are small compared to dinosaurs and Tyrannosaurus Rexes can be not that bad.

The new character, Buck, is really a great one. He is a weasel with a sword-like weapon derived from the tooth of his arch enemy, Rudy, which is a pale white Dinosaur. I love the way the little weasel gets crazy over things. He can fly a dino-bat, guess i don’t really know the difference from dibo-bat with a pterodactyl (tere-duck-tail). ‘Guess names are not really important. All I know is that this weasel is so strong that he can throw berries at you and you will die.

I would do everything to get the tooth of Rudy!

Movie Review: Transformers 2 – Revenge of The Fallen

Contrary to what I would have thought, Megatron is not the entity in here that is being referred to as “The Fallen”. If you would have excercised your active listening skills while watching the movie, eating sour cream flavored pop corn, and drinking bottled nestea apple (or know story of the Transformers in comics); then you should have understood that there is a Decepticon, that Megatron and all the others refer to as “master” named as The Fallen.

This bad guy who can use telekinesis, teleportation, television hacking and all tele-stuff, would only come out halfway through the story. And once he is dead, together with some good guys  and some bad guys, the movie ends. I don’t see why other movie reviews get to be difficult with the story plot. I mean, Michael Bay did not name the movie as “Revenge of The Fallen” for nothing.

What I liked about the movie:

  • Megan Fox running in the desert
  • Megan Fox running in the desert with Shia LaBoeuf
  • Megan Fox running in the desert with the webmaster college guy.
  • Megan Fox running in the desert with some soldiers.
  • Megan Fox falling to the sand after running.

Famous Lines:

  • Sometimes, cowards do survive
