Round 1 ended with FEU still unbeaten and UP still unwinning. Although the league has now produced favorites for the final 4, it is much of a surprise that the AdU Falcons are at the number 2 spot and UE at 2nd from the last.

After two 5-minute extensions,
Going into this game, FEU is the favorite being perfect at 4-0 win loss record, while DLSU is coming from a win against long time rival Ateneo.
The game was at Lasalle until the 3rd quarter when FEU started using their breaks to capitalize.
Everybody was tired even before the 2nd OT started, but FEU showed more gas during the last final minutes.
The game ended heavy for the Lasallians as the court is being cleared for the 2nd game, NU vs UST.

On Sunday, August 9, 2009, the arch rivals will once again battle it out at the Araneta Center; and as a tribute to our Mother of Philippine Democracy, ex-president Corazon Aquino; will have to wear yellow.
There are reports that the Green Archers will be wearing yellow armbands. On the other hand, yellow ribbons would be worn by the Blue Eagles.
